Deer Poaching in Western Geneva Co.

Alabama gun season for deer doesn't get underway until this Saturday. But, residents in a small western Geneva County community are seeing and smelling the handiwork of poachers. Hacoda (hay-coda) community residents say it's a sad and disgusting morning ritual. Finding dead deer below the iron bridge along Flat Creek in western Geneva County. Residents say poachers are night hunting and killing the deer. They then throw the carcass off the side of the bridge. In many cases, the deer have been decapitated. Alabama game wardens say the public provides the best eyes and ears to illegal hunting. Report such abuse to authorities immediately...
