The Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) is pleased to announce that the DeFuniak Springs Wal-Mart yesterday donated $2,500 to the 2011 Santa Patrol fundraiser and donation gift drive to support underprivileged children this holiday season.
“We sincerely appreciate the kindness and support from Manager Chris Wilcox and the rest of the Wal-Mart staff,” said Lt. Eddie Farris of the WCSO’s Citizen Services Division. “Every dollar and toy puts smiles on the faces of our local children during the holidays.”
Last year, more than 100 businesses and individuals contributed to the Santa Patrol program to provide more than 208 children with more than 1,950 bicycles, dolls and other donated toys.
New toy donations are accepted at the WCSO headquarters at 752 Triple G Road in DeFuniak Springs and at the Santa Rosa Beach substation located at 133 Sheriff Drive.
Businesses and individuals who make monetary donations are encouraged to address checks to Wal-Mart/Walton County Sheriff’s Office, and mail them to the attention of Lt. Eddie Farris of the WCSO’s Citizen Services Division at 752 Triple G Road, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.
