Wing community residents in rural Covington County believe a caution light, or speed bumps at a dangerous intersection could have saved the lives of three young sisters.
Last Tuesday night, the Toyota carrying eight-year-old twins along with their eleven-year-old sister and grandmother all from Baker, Florida were struck at the intersection of Alabama Highway 137 and County Road 4. An 18-year-old Birmingham woman allegedly ran the stop sign at the intersection resulting in the tragedy. Residents say there have been at least ten fatalities at the intersection over the last twenty years.
