The Daleville Water Department is getting an upgrade through technology.
For the past few weeks they've worked to get their new GPS system in place.
It uses coordinates.
They match up with different water valves, man holes, wells and other water department property.
A digital map shows where these points are throughout the city so employees know where to go.
Officials say it will speed up repair time.
"If we have a busted water main under a road and the roads washing out and we have to hunt a valve in the middle of the night, that unit would take you right to it and you could get on it quicker and get the water shut off."
The Water Department says it's going to help present and future employees to find the properties after other workers retire.
The Water Department is covering the cost of the system.
