Business and industry leaders who want to hear firsthand what’s happening on the business and economic front in Washington, D.C., will want to attend the Daleville Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Membership Banquet Feb. 21.
Moore Hallmark, Southeast Region Director, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will be the featured speaker at the 6:30 p.m. banquet, where he’s expected to discuss how health care reform, tax and entitlement reform, immigration policies and other foremost economic issues will affect individual businesses and consumers in the very near future.
Hallmark oversees congressional and public affairs for eight southeastern states: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, headed by President and CEO Tom Donahue, is the world’s largest business organization and advocates for pro-business policies that create jobs and grow the economy. The Chamber’s “American Jobs and Growth Agenda,” is a plan to generate strong economic growth to create jobs, lift incomes and expand opportunity for all Americans.
Hallmark’s address will be a highlight of the evening of events at the Daleville Cultural and Convention Center. The Daleville High School JROTC Rifle Team, Football Coach Brad McCoy and 2013 DHS college football signees Roman Buchanan and Demetri Williams will
also be honored, along with the winners of the Carl Berry Volunteer Service and Daleville Business of the Year Awards.
Also new this year to the banquet is a Table Decoration Contest. Table sponsors may decorate their own table. The public will be allowed to view the decorated tables all day Feb. 21 and vote on their favorite. The convention center will be open at 5:30 for banquet guests to come and see the tables and also cast their votes. The winner will be announced at the banquet.
For more information about the table decoration contest or to reserve your table, call the Chamber at 334-598-6331.
