Dale County Authorities Arrest Man for Theft of Property and Controlled Substance

On Friday, June 20th, Dale County Investigators arrested Carlton Deese Jr. of Ozark for one count of Theft of Property 1st, two counts of Theft of Property 2nd , and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Deese was arrested following an investigation into multiple complaints of scrap metal thefts throughout the county. Investigators developed Deese as a suspect and a B.O.L.O was issued. Sheriff Olson, who was out on patrol, spotted Deese and his vehicle pulling into a victim’s property on South County Road 59 near Midland City.

Sheriff Olson and Chief Deputy Tim McDonald took Deese into custody as he was attempting to steal scrap metal from the victim’s property. During the arrest Deese was found to be in possession of additional stolen property from other thefts as well as methamphetamine. Deese was arrested and is currently being held on $105,000 bond with additional charges forthcoming.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ozark Police Department and the Alabama Department of Conservation Enforcement Division.
