Forced budget cuts are causing major scale backs around the country.
The Federal Aviation Administration will close 173 air traffic control towers at small and medium size airports on April 7th because of forced budget cuts.
Federal officials told tower operators Tuesday that 16 other towers will be closed on September 30th.
The airports can stay open even when the towers close because many planes can land without the help of air traffic controllers.
Dothan Regional Airport could be one of the facilities affected by the sequester.
When the cuts hit, the airport could lose an air traffic control center and TSA security.
Right now airport officials say all they can do is wait.
