This morning Solo's trainers brought the year-and-a-half old blood hound from Huntsville to his new home..., the Covington County Sheriff's office. He is that department's first k-9 in more than a year.
Solo is trained as a tracking dog and is expected to be a tremendous asset in locating missing children and dementia patients who may wander off. During several demonstrations, solo locates a man hiding under trees and in the woods. Covington County Sheriff Dennis Meeks says it's not unusual to have a hunter get lost in the woods.
