Covington Co. Authorities Investigating Threat to Unnamed Government Building

UPDATE 10:30P.M.

We are hearing reports that a home south of Enterprise off Coffee County Road 723 was searched by the Coffee County Sheriff's Office and several other agencies, but nothing was found.

UPDATE 3:00 P.M.

Suspects involved in this case have possibly been pulled over in Houston County. A large section of Highway 84 has been blocked in Wicksburg. News 4's Sarah Cantey is en route. We will update as more information is released.


ANDALUSIA, AL - Authorities in Covington County are investigating a threat that has shut down many county and city buildings.

Andalusia City Schools were dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Covington County Schools will dismiss students at 1:30 p.m.

Andalusia City Schools Superintendent Ted Watson tells us a threat was called in to the courthouse earlier today. The threat is reportedly vague and targets an unnamed government building in Covington County.

The county courthouse was searched earlier this afternoon. Several city and county buildings, including the schools, have been shut down to be searched.
