Court Fee Increases

DOTHAN-- Starting today court fees went up in Alabama. The only cases that won't be affected by the fee increase are juvenile and child support cases. A 35-dollar up-front filing fee has also been added to each bond that's executed in a criminal case. It also adds a bail bond fee of 3-and-a-half percent of the bond's face value that will be paid by the defendant, if there is a conviction. The new fees will be in effect until at least September of 2015.
