BLAKELY, GA - Back in June we introduced you to Savannah McArdle Betten.
The Blakely, Georgia, woman suffers from Keratoconus - a condition causing her to lose sight in both eyes.
The condition is reversible, but Savannah and her husband don't have insurance, and Savannah is no longer able to work.
Savannah's husband started a fundraising campaign to help pay for surgery to correct her eyesight.
With help from Savannah's family, the community has stepped up to the plate, raising enough money for Savannah to have surgery on her left eye. The surgery is scheduled for later this month. Savannah says she's excited but nervous.
They are still collecting donations to help pay for surgery for her right eye. To donate visit Savannah's Go Fund Me page or you can make a donation at Commercial State Bank in Blakely.
