Community Development Block Grants Awarded in Dothan

About ten Dothan non-profit organizations will receive funding from Community Development Block grants.

Tuesday, the Dothan City Commission approved the funding at their meeting.
The Alfred Saliba family services center, Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity, and Dothan Boys and Girls Clubs are just a few that will benefit.

These funds could help pay salaries, purchase supplies or make improvements to buildings.

"When you look at the whole purpose of the community development block grant funds is to help people in need. I think in a lot of instances the organization already does that, so the city doesn't have to duplicate that effort," said City Manager Mike West.
