Republican candidate Gene Yager says the district five line literally goes across his home at Tartan Pines Country Club in Enterprise. Yager says he has the right like anybody else in the district to run for that seat.
He says a recently minority owned publication threatened him with a lawsuit if he wins in November against democrat Jimmy Jones. District five was formulated as a minority district during federal court ordered integration. Its African American population stretches from Enterprise through Elba.
