Today, the Alabama Forestry Commission office in Coffee County handed out more than one-thousand tree seedlings' to the public.
The "free" event was part of the state's observance of Arbor Day.
It's an annual event with its roots dug deep for more than a century.
Forestry personnel say the crepe myrtle and magnolias were the most popular trees given away.
