Forecasters with the Climate Prediction Center have released their outlooks for the winter ahead, and it could be a wet one.

The wiregrass area has up to a 33% chance of a wetter than average period between the months of December and February.

However, temperatures in the wiregrass have an equal chance of being either lower or higher than normal, with a warm winter expected in store to our west.

Forecasters stress this is a challenging forecast due to the weakening of "El Niño" in the pacific ocean.
