While the U.S. and China are building relationships the Wiregrass is benefitting financially.
This year's symposium has attracted people from all across the state, nation and world.
Tourism officials say visitors are opening their wallets. The City of Dothan is expected to generate a little under a half-a-million dollars over the three day conference.
"The big picture is to attract any of these companies. They will visit an area several times then they will start bringing in new employees and they will have to stay in our hotels, said Bob Hendrix, the Executive Director of the Dothan Area Conventions and Visitors Bureau.
Local hotels, restaurants and transportation have been the top beneficiaries of this year's symposium.
