The former leader of a breakaway faction of a fearsome Mexican drug cartel has pleaded guilty to drug and money laundering charges in federal court in McAllen.

A "FORMER" EMPLOYEE OF THE COFFEE COUNTY PROBATE JUDGE'S ELBA DIVISION OFFICE PLEADS "GUILTY" TO EMBEZZLING FUNDS.
EARLIER THIS YEAR, CHRISTINA NELSON WAS ARRESTED ON FIRST-DEGREE THEFT CHARGES.
THE ALABAMA BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION DETERMINED THE 45-YEAR-OLD HAD BEEN STEALING MONEY FROM THAT OFFICE OVER A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME.
COFFEE COUNTY CIRCUIT JUDGE JEFF KELLEY HAS SET NELSON'S SENTENCING DATE FOR SEPTEMBER 29th.
