Cholesterol Drug Fights Malaria?

A drug that lowers cholesterol could help fight malaria.

Research from the University of Utah shows adding the drug lovastatin to traditional treatment for cerebral malaria may decrease inflammation in the brain and protect against cognitive impairment.

The findings were in mice.

More research is needed.
