Chipley Man Convicted on Drug Charges

A Chipley man was convicted Wednesday of manufacturing and selling cocaine to a confidential informant who videotaped much of the incident.

Assistant State Attorney Shalla Jefcoat showed jurors that an informant working for Chipley police and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office went to Dana David Johnson’s house on March 8, 2012. The informant secretly videotaped Johnson as he converted powder cocaine to crack.

Afterwards, Johnson sold the cocaine to the informant for $60.

Jurors convicted Johnson, 43, of manufacture of crack cocaine and sale of cocaine, both second-degree felonies.

Johnson faces up to 30 years in prison when Circuit Judge Christopher Patterson sentences him May 13.
