Chipley, FL; February 14, 2013 — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Chipley man on sexual battery charges.
Washington County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the suspected sexual battery involving a child on February 11, 2013. If convicted, the charges carry a minimum/mandatory of life in prison.

Zachary Lee Varnes, 19 year old white male of Chipley, FL
· Sexual Battery On a Victim Under 12 Years of Age
· Lewd and Lascivious Molestation On a Victim Less Than 16 Years of Age
