The Henry County Health Department was called to a neighborhood in Abbeville after residents say a cat was acting strangely.
They removed the cat from the neighborhood and sent it to get get tested.
It came back positive for rabies.
Health department officials say there was no human exposure to the rabies.
They recommend that if you have any pets that you get them vaccinated.
Officials say if you see an animal acting weird, call the police and do not to handle it yourself.
