An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Deputy who stopped a driver who ran a
stop sign on Tuesday evening discovered the car had been reported stolen out of Fort Walton Beach.
21-year old Sakima Bracero of 1800 Old Ranch Road first made a
spontaneous statement that the car was his girlfriend’s. He later stated he “found it with the keys inside and thought it was his”.
During a search, the deputy also found a red pill in Bracero’s front pants pocket. He told the deputy it was candy, and then stated it was medicine but he didn’t know what kind.
Bracero’s been charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and driving
with no license. He was also cited for running a stop sign and failing to yield right of way.
The car, A 2004 Dodge Neon, had been reported stolen by the Fort Walton Beach Police Department.
