The Ozark Community Remembers a Life Ended too Soon

OZARK -- A large crowd of those who knew Christian Markoff, and some who did not, gathered at the Southside Baptist Church in Ozark. They honored his life through prayer and reminiscing about fun times they spent with him.

Two Carroll High School teens planned the candlelight service this afternoon, knowing they would only have a few hours to invite people. More than 50 showed up to light a candle in Markoff's honor and reflect on what made him special.

Markoff is the teen who was shot to death on Sunday on Yancey Street in Ozark.

Two Ozark banks are accepting monetary donations in Christian's honor.

The information for the Commercial Bank is 208 South Merrick Avenue, P.O. Box 1029, Ozark, AL 36361.

The information for Wells Fargo is under Juliaetta McGowan. If a person goes to the Wells Fargo Bank at 293 Andrews Ave. in Ozark, they can ask for the money to be deposited under that name for the memorial fund account.
