CMI Door Set to Close in Ozark

Ozark, AL - An Ozark business will be closing its doors by the end of the year.

Craft Master Manufacturing Incorporated Door Division, otherwise known as CMI Door, will close permanently on December 31.

About seventy people will lose their jobs.

The company was bought by Jedd-Wen windows and doors earlier this year.

That company is closing three manufacturing plants, including the one in Ozark.

"If you think about the families that are involved, their last day of work will be the last working day of December. They've got to go through the holidays knowing as soon as the holidays are over they will not have a job. So this is a huge impact on those families," said Ozark Mayor Billy Blackwell.

The Alabama Rapid Response team is helping these employees search for a new job.

Also, economic leaders are already working to market 200,000 square feet building.

They hope to recruit a business that will have more employees.
