There will be no change in CHELCO’s board of trustees in 2014. The two contested seats on the board were won by incumbents Gayle Hughes in District 8 and Jim Bishop in District 3. Ronnie Jones, who represents District 5, ran unopposed.
Members elected trustees in mail balloting. There are nine trustees on CHELCO’s board, and every year three of those seats are up for election. Next year District 1, District 7 and District 9 will be elected.
Results of the election were announced at CHELCO’s recent annual meeting, where CEO Steve Rhodes told members that management and the board had developed a strategic plan in 2013, which resulted in six strategic incentives to make the cooperative even better. To begin achieving these initiatives, the 2014 budget and work plan were developed. CHELCO is now going to “work the plan,” Rhodes said.
CHELCO is a not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative serving more than 45,000 accounts in Walton, Okaloosa, Holmes and Santa Rosa counties.
