Today law enforcement officers from across Alabama and beyond said goodbye to one of their own.
A procession of patrol vehicles escorted the casket of former Coffee County Sheriff Brice Paul.
Earlier this week, Sheriff Paul passed away following an extended illness.
In 1979, he was appointed to fill the term of Sheriff Neal Grantham who was fatally shot in office.
Longtime friends and colleagues say he was the people's sheriff and modernized the department.
