Body Found Submerged in Vehicle in Lake

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office received a call this morning at approximately 8 o’clock by family members of missing person Ray Max Fleming. A vehicle had been discovered in a lake located behind a home owned by Fleming on Highway 20.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, Crime Scene Unit and Dive Team responded to the residence. Tow trucks were able to pull the vehicle from the lake. A man’s body was found in the vehicle. The vehicle appears to be the one Fleming is known to drive. Also found in the vehicle was the body of a dog. The Golden Retriever had also not been seen since Fleming went missing. The body of the dog was turned over to the family.

The medical examiner’s office has taken the body of the man and will make positive identification and conduct an autopsy. The vehicle has been taken to the BCSO for Crime Scene to conduct a forensic investigation. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
