Blount Dominates Robertsdale at South Regional Tournament

The Blount Girls Basketball Team got off to a slow start against Robertsdale during Wednesday's 6A Regional Semifinal at the Dothan Civic Center. When the Leopards finally woke up, the Golden Bears had no chance.

Blount went on a 37-0 run that spanned three quarters, rolling to a 76-27 win. With the victory, the Leopards advanced to Friday's 6A Regional Final to face the winner of Murphy and Baldwin County.

The Leopards led 7-4 midway through the first quarter, when their pressure defense would spark a monster run. Blount forced 20 first half turnovers, turning most of them into fast-break points.

Blount led 41-4 at halftime, and 44-4 before Robertsdale finally ended the run. Cierra Johnson had 21 points and 12 rebounds for Blount, most coming in the first half during the team's monster run.

Whytney Singleton added 16 points, while Laporsche Grissett and Priscella Hall chipped in 13 points each.

Maddy Petite led Robertsdale with 13 points. The Golden Bears end the year with a 16-14 record.
