When people in Blakely, Georgia vote in the primary election in May, they will have an extra box on the ballot to fill out.
The Blakely City Council voted earlier this month to include a mixed drinks referendum on the ballot. The vote would decide whether or not mixed drink sales should be allowed in Blakely restaurants.
The majority of people WTVY talked to seem to support the idea of mixed drink sales in the city.
"There's a lot of people who make mixed drinks at home. (Allowing the sale of mixed drinks) could get a lot of people out in the down," said one resident.
City officials believe the referendum would allow businesses to remain competitive and add to tax revenue for the city.
The vote will be on May 20.
