TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (AP) -- A former volunteer with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Shoals has been indicted on sexual abuse charges involving boys.

Tuscumbia police said 41-year-old Chadmon Wright is in the Colbert County jail with bond set at $375,000. He was indicted by a county grand jury on charges of first-degree sexual abuse, sexual abuse of a child under 12, sodomy and enticing a child for immoral purposes.

Police said Wright is accused of abusing five boys ages 9 to 15.

Police said Wright met one of the boys through his volunteer work and the others were friends of that youth. Officers said Wright used to work for the state Department of Human Resources, and the investigation began with a tip from DHR.

Court records don't indicate if Wright has an attorney.
