UPDATE 4:09 p.m.

The Kiwanis club is staying updated on the progress of the Dothan-Houston County Library System.

Library Director Bettye Forbus made a visit to the Kiwanis Club Tuesday.

She talked about different topics, including how well the community seems to be liking the new libraries.

"We have people waiting everyday, literally, when we open the doors and we have people there when we're locking up everyday. We have people who bring their own laptop and because it's all WiFi, that is their office now, which is fine, " says Forbus.

Between the Westgate and Downtown location, the libraries have checked out more than 30,000 items in 6 weeks.

Bettye Forbus addressed the Kiwanis Club this morning.

She talked about the perks of getting a new library card. One of those perks is that if you had a past due amount, the library will will wipe your slate clean.

The library doesn't just have books, they also have music, digital books and iPads for use.
