Fort Rucker, Ala. – Approximately 30 Army Reserve Solders from the 412th Theater Engineer Command will compete for the title of “Best Warrior” April 24 to 28.
The contest is designed to identify the best competitors among the 13,000 Soldiers within the command. The winners will advance to compete in the United States Army Reserve Command’s 2012 Best Warrior Competition.
Participants will compete in the following categories: physical fitness, weapons handling, marksmanship, Army Warrior Tasks, land navigation, first aid and a mystery event. They’ll also take a written exam, write an essay and report before a panel of sergeants major in full dress uniform to answer questions ranging from military knowledge to current events.
Maj. Gen. William M. Buckler Jr. commander 412th TEC will present the “Best Warrior” awards to the winners and runners-up in the noncommissioned officer and enlisted categories during a ceremony at West Beach Pavilion number 3 on Fort Rucker, April 28, 2:30 p.m.
