Benefit Lunch Set Up for Destinee Reese

There will be a benefit lunch Saturday for the Headland teenager who was struck by a car August 19.

It will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the square in downtown Headland.

Destinee Reese was walking along Highway 173 when she was hit by a car. She's undergoing major surgery, and her mother is asking for donations to help cover the costs.

There will be barbecue plates for sale at Saturday's lunch. The cost is $6. The plates include a barbecue sandwich, baked beans, potato salad, pound cake and a drink.

A fund has also been set up at Wells Fargo for Destinee.
