Batman, My Little Pony, Star Trek, Nemo Highlight Week’s Home Video Releases

An assortment of home video releases for December the 4th feature superheroes, talking fish, magical ponies and space explorers.

Every Tuesday, in North America, home video releases hit the shelves of retailers across the country. Here are a few of this week’s major releases for both DVD and Blu-Ray.

The Dark Knight Rises (Warner Brothers) – The conclusion of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy hits stores with both Blu-Ray and DVD. The film, which was extremely successful in theatres, stars Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: The Complete 1st Season (Shout! Factory) – On the opposite end of the spectrum is the first season of an animated series that gained an unexpected audience: adults of all genders and ages. The first season includes 26 episodes and over 2 hours of commentaries from cast and crew. This release is DVD only and exclusively available on Amazon.

Finding Nemo (Disney) – With the release of this feature, all of the Disney/Pixar features will be available in high-definition. This extremely successful computer animated feature will be released in 3D Blu-Ray, regular Blu-Ray and DVD.

Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season 2 (CBS Home Entertainment) – This Blu-Ray only edition of the second season of the beloved science fiction series is re-built from the original film elements for high definition. It features all 22 episodes, a special cast reunion, a never-before-seen extended episode, an all-new gag reel and other special features.
