Family members of a man shot and killed by a Barbour County Deputy last week are asking community members for peace, not violence.
They hosted a meeting at a Eufaula church this evening. Organizers say emotions have been running high since 26-year-old Cameron was killed during a traffic stop.
His mother Jacqueline Massey says she wants friends and family to lean on each other for support rather than band together in anger.
"This is something that has torn the community apart and we ask that we will build a cohesion back into the community and bring the community and the police department back together," says Pastor Kenneth Glasgow.
There will be a "Stop the Violence" March in Eufaula Monday at 1pm. Right now, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation is handling this case.
