About two months ago county commissioners started a trial of automated trash pick up in Madrid.
Commissioners say so far, there have been no complaints and residents they like how easy it is to maneuver the trash can.
Commissioners agree there are many reasons as to why they want to expand the project.
"We believe it'll make for a cleaner county. As best we can we try to keep the garbage picked up but things happen and winds blow, so if you look down in the area where the trial has been, it looks very nice down there, less garbage, " says Mark Culver, Chairman of Houston County Commission.
The automated garbage trucks will ultimately save the county $400,000 dollars a year.
Commissioners will discuss the expansion of automated trucks during the next county commission meeting.
