AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Auburn University's athletic department says it's adding parking and tailgating areas for football Saturdays.
Reports say that a new parking and tailgating plan adds more than 2,000 free and 800 paid parking spaces and new tailgating areas.
Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs says fan surveys indicated fans wanted mores space to park and tailgate. He and his staff worked with university vice president of facilities over the last two years to improve the game day experience.
Most of the areas will open at 4 p.m. Fridays and will be available on a first come, first served basis. The new spots are expected to be available for the season that starts in the fall.
