The Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine had a special guest this morning.
Former Auburn University coach Pat Dye came by to plant Japanese maple trees to help with fundraising.
Dye is most famous for coaching the Tigers in the 1980s and early 90s, but gardening has become a hobby since he retired.
Dye says he's glad to share it with Dothan residents.
"This is a wonderful thing that you're doing here with this school, for the community, for the state, it's a win-win for everybody,” Dye said. “We're not making any money, we're just trying to pay the bills."
The trees are part of fundraising efforts for the Southeast Alabama Medical Center Foundation.
Proceeds from tree purchases will go to benefit the college.
