Atlanta Woman Claims Mega Millions Prize

ATLANTA (AP) -- Authorities say an Atlanta woman has come forward to claim a $250,000 prize she won in last month's record-jackpot Mega Millions drawing.

CBS Atlanta reports (http://bit.ly/Hm5Y5a) that Tarenthia Geer matched the first five numbers in the March 30 drawing and claimed her prize Monday at Georgia Lottery headquarters.

Georgia Lottery officials say she's one of six Georgia players who won $250,000 payouts in the historic drawing. The six winning Georgia tickets were purchased in Athens, Atlanta, Ellabell, Hendersonville, Marietta and Waco.

Another 48 Georgians won $10,000 prizes for matching four of the five white balls plus the Mega Ball.

Three grand-prize winning tickets were sold in Illinois, Kansas and Maryland, giving their owners a share of the largest lottery jackpot in history.
