Dothan, AL - Dozens of children went on an Asthma Safari at the Wiregrass Commons Mall Saturday afternoon.
They learned about the chronic lung disease and the various methods that can be used to control an asthma attack.
The goal is to teach very young kids how to manage the disease and make it less frightening.
"They can learn how to make their action plan, we teach them that, how their action plan works every day. And when the parents see the children understanding it, they're able to relax a little bit," said Healthy You, Inc., Executive Director Mary Palo.
The program has taught thousands of kids over the last fourteen years.
