Armed Robbery Ends in Police Chase in Dale County

Just before 9 last night an African American man entered the Cannon Station on Andrews Avenue in Ozark.

Police say he was armed with a knife and forced the cashier to give him money.

Police say he then stole the cashier's car.

Dale County sheriff's deputies responded quickly and spotted the car about 10 minutes later.

After the suspect refused to stop, deputies went on a brief pursuit and were able stop him using spike strips near County Roads 36 and 59.

48 year old Howard Reese is charged with 1st degree robbery and 1st degree theft.

Reese was booked into the Dale County Jail. He is awaiting first appearance for his bond to be set.
