Ariton History Committee Finishes Book for Community

ARITON -- For three years, a historical book committee in Ariton has been working on a compilation of the town's memories, photos and writings. During a special ceremony on Sunday, a large crowd gathered to purchase and pick up their copy of "Ariton: Where Two Railroads Collided."

For those who worked on collecting the stories and photographs, writing and publishing the book, they said they it is bittersweet to close this chapter.

"It's kind of a relief in one way, we went through this over three years in the making. and we're really proud for this to come to a close," Ronnie Danner said.

For anyone who would like to purchase a copy of the book, send in an order to Ronnie Danner, P.O. Box 244, Ariton, AL 36311. Please make checks out to Ariton History.
