Arbor Day Celebrations in Dothan

It’s a day dedicated to one of our most valuable natural resources and Dothan Mayor Mike Schmitz proclaimed this Thursday as Arbor Day.

Residents are encouraged to plant a tree.

Horticulturalist Dan Williams said, “It doesn’t take a lot of time and doesn’t necessarily take any money. But, it’s rewarding to see it grow and gives you a sense of satisfaction.”

On Thursday, a celebration will be held at Eastgate Park at 10 a.m., rain or shine. On Friday trees will be given away at the Northside Walmart Garden Center starting at 9 a.m. You are encouraged to show up early.
