Here’s another quirk in the federal health care insurance system.
There's no way to quickly and easily update coverage for common life changes like the birth of a child.
The way private insurance works is new parents simply notify their provider.
Under the federal system, parents will also have to contact the government, but healthcare.gov can't do that right now.
Other life changes include marriages and divorce, death, new job or change in income, and even moving.
