An amnesty program for Dothan is in the works.
During Dothan City Commission's Administrative Agenda today, Dothan's Municipal Court Judge Rose Gordon asked Dothan City Commission for permission to create an amnesty court.
The program would allow people with outstanding warrants for misdemeanor offenses to go into court at a certain time and pay fines without facing jail-time.
Gordon says the amnesty court will help with the city's backlog of unpaid fines and outstanding warrants.
City commissioners will vote on the amnesty court creation at their next scheduled meeting on April 1st.
