Although the new Nintendo Wii U has been on shelves since November, new software is expanding the streaming video options for the original Wii.
Amazon Instant Video is a streaming service that offers tens of thousands of TV episodes of movies for streaming through the internet.
A new, free piece of software to download for the Nintendo Wii video game console allows Amazon customers to access the service through the system. It can be downloaded through the Wii Shop Channel.
The software is free. Amazon Prime subscribers can stream a large variety of movies and television shows for free, while others and rent or purchase entertainment to watch.
At this time, this service is only available in the United States.
