Alabama State Troopers Make Large Drug Bust

A Mobile County man has been arrested on drug trafficking charges.
Alabama State Troopers say they attempted to stop 29-year-old Travis Elliot Daniels of Saraland at approximately 1 a.m. Friday on Interstate 10 near McDonald Road, about two miles west of Mobile, during what originated as a routine traffic stop and resulted in the seizure of narcotics.
Authorities say Daniels attempted to elude troopers, and a brief pursuit ensued, ending on Old Pascagoula Road west of Carol Plantation Road. Troopers searched the vehicle and discovered 24 bundles of suspected narcotics and 295 grams codeine syrup.
Daniels is charged with trafficking in cocaine and attempting to elude police. He also was issued citations for no tag light and reckless driving.
He was transported to the Mobile Metro Jail.
