TROY, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities say an Alabama man has been charged with shooting his two teenage sons, and killing one of them, during a family argument.
Reports say 44-year-old Sammy Dee Jackson was jailed Saturday in Pike County on charged of murder and attempted murder. Sheriff Russell Thomas says the suspect had been arguing with his wife at their mobile home when he turned a 12-guage shotgun on his sons.
Deputies say Jackson shot and killed his 18-year-old son, also named Sammy Jackson, and then shot his 16-year-old son in the leg. Authorities say the younger son, whose name was not released, jumped from a window and escaped before he was taken to a hospital.
Jackson was being held Saturday on $150,000 bond. It was not known if Jackson had an attorney
