Ala. Woman Arrested on Drug Charges Near Police HQ

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Tuscaloosa police say a woman is charged with selling drugs across the street from the city's police station.

Officers charged the woman after members of the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force searched a suspected drug house about 7 p.m. Tuesday. They say the house is across the street from the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

Police say 24-year-old Bridgette Ann Barnette of Tuscaloosa is charged with marijuana possession and distribution, plus possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police say drugs were being sold from the house, where officers allegedly found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Barnette is jailed with bond set at $81,000.
