MILTON, FL -- It was a special day for those visiting a parent in prison on Saturday afternoon. The Santa Rosa Correctional Institution hosted Sesame Street Little Children, Big Challenges: Incarceration during weekend visitation hours.

The families received information and tips on helping children understand and cope with incarceration. They also received helpful information for the parent behind bars and the caretakers. The children received DVDs they could take home.

Florida is one of 10 pilot states launching the program. It is a partnership between the Florida Department of Corrections and Sesame Street. The total number of children with an incarcerated parent is 64.475.
